Technology x Talent: See How Tech Amplifies Our Talent to Make A Difference.

At Federal Package, we strive to make personal care products that please customers and brands alike. Like most manufacturing operations, creating a pleasing, safe, and stable product that looks good on retail shelves and performs as expected, time after time, without fail, is our top priority. In the competitive world of contract manufacturing, the harmonious integration of technology and human talent is crucial to creating a product. Technology provides the tools and infrastructure to automate processes, streamline operations, and enhance efficiency, while human expertise and ingenuity contribute to problem-solving, adaptability, and innovation. This relationship between technology and human talent allows Federal Package to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers.

Technology plays a pivotal role at Federal Package by automating repetitive tasks, reducing errors, and optimizing production processes. Advanced manufacturing techniques, such as robotics, computer-aided design (CAD), and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), enable us to produce complex products with precision and consistency.

Over the past several years, Federal Package has installed automation devices and robotics to increase efficiency and lessen the potential for human error. “We look for tasks that are highly repetitive or prone to overuse injury in our staff as areas where automation could be fit in,” says Jerry Bilse, Senior VP of Operations. We have been able to automate job tasks, like palletizing products with robotics, a job that can lead to repetitive use injury. This allows us to use our human talent better in more strategic and varied tasks.

Additionally, data analytics tools provide valuable insights into production performance, enabling manufacturers to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions. In early 2023, Federal Package began running QAD Redzone technology on each production and assembly line. This technology helps to identify outages and downtime, as well as provide everyone from our shift supervisors to our quality assurance team, with precise data to see how we are running.

While some manufacturers look to automation as a solution to a long-term labor shortage, Federal Package understands the value of our workforce and looks to find technologies to help our staff perform their duties, rather than replace them.

We understand human talent brings knowledge, experience, and creativity to the contract manufacturing process. Skilled engineers, technicians, and quality control personnel ensure that products are manufactured to exacting standards and specifications. Their expertise in problem-solving, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement is invaluable in addressing challenges and optimizing production processes.

The successful integration of technology and human talent is a critical factor in manufacturing excellence. By leveraging the strengths of both technology and human expertise, Federal Package benefits from the efficiency and innovation that allows us to produce high-quality personal care products time and time again for our customers.
